DASECA Productions have whipped up a musical tempest with their latest project - Category 5 Riddim.
Set for official release on Friday March 18, via Amazon, iTunes and all digital stores, Category 5 finds the production powerhouse using the melodic sounds of an acoustic guitar infused into the main stem of this rhythm to create an infectious sound that has you reaching for the repeat button

Dancehall A-Listers Mavado, Serani, I-Octane and Bugle are joined by "got next" artistes Kibaki and new sensation out of DASECA's camp - Seaview's own Dexta Daps, on the first six tracks set for release. It was around this time last year DASECA released their 'Genesis' rhythm straight to iTunes, boosted by exclusive radio premieres rather than the well-trodden road of just an email blast.
Within days the buzz in the build-up to the Genesis release proved to be a game-changer and many producers subsequently followed suit. It was indeed a Genesis for the Jamaican music industry as the musical landscape is now dominated by iTunes/digital releases.
"Genesis created a huge buzz and anticipation," said Craig Harrisingh, one-third of DASECA in a release sent to THE STAR. "While we are proud of every project we release, we wanted to get away from that sound and return to a more traditional dancehall pattern. We are very excited about the Category 5 rhythm and the songs on it. Those who have heard it so far are expecting it to do big things. We realise it's a very competitive scene right now but we are confident this riddim will get the support it merits."
Thinking out of the box once more, DASECA partnered up with selecting duo Razz & Biggy to compile a three-minute sampler mix of the tracks, complete with weather forecasts! Soundcloud, YouTube, Twitter and many other social networking sites are already abuzz with the Category 5 and the impending musical storm that is about to rain down
